I consider myself a bit of a pro when it comes to shopping at Nordstrom. After all, I’ve been a loyal customer there for as long as I can remember; I write about the retailer so often that I could tell you practically every brand it carries; I’ve maneuvered my way through the racks at its headquarters in Seattle and recently explored its cool new flagship store in New York; not to mention I can navigate its website faster than you can refresh your Insta feed, and when the retailer has a sale, you can guarantee I know the best pieces to get my hands on before they sell out. So today, I wanted to share my Nordstrom knowledge with you and point out some of the best pieces to scoop up during the fall sale, taking place between November 7 and 17 (with up to 40% off!). From the best brands to shop for affordable cashmere to elevated basics and staple jeans, scroll below to see what I’m buying.

You can never have too many.

The perfect layering piece.

This remains a best seller on Who What Wear.

Time for an elevated pair of leggings.

So cozy! Pair with chic beige pants.

The styling options are endless.

Fitted cardigans are trending hard.

Throw on over all your blouses and tops.

This color though!

Say hello to your new everyday sweater.

I'll be pairing this with a midi skirt and knee-high boots for Thanksgiving.

Fashion girl–approved.

A hint of stretch makes these super comfortable.

Because your black skinny jeans need an update.

Wear with flats and heels alike.

The ideal base for all your party tops.

Trust us, you'll wear them every weekend.

Your midi dresses need these luxe-looking boots.

Just add skinny jeans and a cozy sweater for a no-think fall outfit.

New sneakers are calling!

All the fashion girls are wearing chunky lug soles right now.

Seriously chic.

Casual hiking boots are the must-have style to add to your cold-weather wardrobe.

From desk to drinks in style.

The street style set love their white boots.

This looks way more expensive that its price tag.

Nail this season's biggest trend with this sumptuous leather skirt.

Wear to work and on the weekend.

Time to jump on your designer bag purchases.

Every closet needs a stripe shirt.

These smart pants would go great with the above shirt.

Gold hoops with a twist.

Wear with tights and boots once the temps drop.

The most versatile dress you'll own.

If you haven't got yourself a chunky chain-link necklace yet, now is the time.

I'll be wearing this on repeat from day to night.

We'd like to live in this, please.

Add instant polish to your outfit.

'Tis the season of layering.

How expensive does this plaid coat look?

For cozying up on the weekends.

Just don't spill your coffee.

Up next, NYC girls are buying these Nordstrom picks in droves, so I tried them too.

Be the first person to like this.

Clearly, Who What Wear editors love skinny jeans as much as the next person. We've broken down the best It girl–approved ways to wear them, the best brands to buy skinny jeans from, and how to wear them like celebrities. As ubiquitous as they are, however, they are far from the only denim option you need. As Nicole Kidman just proved, a sleek pair of wide-leg jeans are an absolute wardrobe essential—and might even convince you to hold off on your beloved skinny jeans that can feel restrictive on...

Kate Middleton's look for her latest public appearance was decidedly more, well, nautical than what we're used to seeing her wear. But as we recently reported, she has a new stylist (and former British Vogue editor) that's helping to craft her looks as of late, and she's keeping us on our toes. The nautical-inspired look is one that instantly gave us visions of chic Parisian girls. Sure, Breton stripes and navy, red, and white may be a bit of a French-girl cliché, but honestly, sometimes style c...
